HOLIDAY HARBOR MARINA

END OF SUMMER?

While Labor Day (September 6, 2021) brings the traditional end of summer, it does not bring an end to boating opportunities.  Many consider September and October two of the best months for boating and fishing on the Gulf Coast.  So, we hope to see you during the Fall boating season.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND PLANNING

This year Labor Day Weekend will be from Friday, September 3 through Monday, September 6.  We hope you are able to get on the water with the family over that weekend.  Because it is a busy period at Holiday Harbor, we ask that dry storage customers:

  1. Call at least 2 hours before you want your boat placed in the water.
  2. Recognize that there is not enough dock space at the Marina for all launched boats to stay in the water during the holiday period.  Therefore, boats returned before closing will be returned to dry storage daily and boats returned after closing will be returned to dry storage early the next morning.
  3. Know that all wet slips are rented on a quarterly or annual basis.  Therefore, do not dock in wet slips.  If you return after closing and the launch area is full, please use the fuel dock or the “T” dock used for docking at Sunset Grille.  We will move your boat early the next morning.  If you leave your boat out overnight and do not wish it returned to dry storage because you plan to use it the next day, please leave a message on the message board next to the office door.  We will do our best to accommodate your needs.
  4. Keep the number of vehicles parking at the Marina to a minimum.

Following these guidelines will help assure everyone has an enjoyable boating experience.

FALL SHOULDER SEASON HOURS

The marina will change to fall shoulder season operating hours on the Tuesday after Labor Day, September 7, 2021.  Beginning then hours will be:

Monday – Thursday        8:00 a.m. – 5:00  p.m.

Friday – Sunday                7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

 UPCOMING EVENT

BLUE ANGELS HOMECOMING SHOW   (Updated September 2, 2021)  The Blue Angels Homecoming Show is scheduled for November 5 & 6, 2021.   This year’s show is especially important since it will celebrate the close of the 75th anniversary of the Blue Angels performing.

On September 2, the Blue Angels announced that the Homecoming Show will be held over Pensacola Beach, similar to the annual summer show (in July), rather than at NAS, the traditional  location.  The schedule as released September 2 shows:

November 3 (Wednesday)          Breakfast with the Blues for circles and arrivals of participating aircraft

November 4 (Thursday)              Arrival Day and Dress Rehearsal

November 5 (Friday)                  Homecoming Air Show, Day 1

November 6 (Saturday)             Homecoming Air Show, Day 2

We will provide the latest schedule details in our October Newsletter.

With the Show at Pensacola Beach, boaters will be able to see the entire show by anchoring either in Santa Rosa Sound or in the Gulf adjacent to the Show location.  Weather permitting, this is a great opportunity for Marina customers to see the spectacular show put on by the Blue Angels with less “hassle” than the summer show.  Make plans now to be there!
