End of Summer?
While Labor Day brings the traditional end of summer, it does not bring an end to boating opportunities. Many consider September and October two of the best months for boating and fishing on the Gulf Coast. So, we hope to see you not only over the Labor Day weekend (September 3 – 5), but also during the Fall boating season, including for the special Red Snapper fishing season in Florida waters (see next item).
Red Snapper Seasons Reopens in Florida Waters
The 2016 recreational fishing season for red snapper will reopen in state waters (only) on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in September and October, including Labor Day (the first Monday In September). Florida state waters are from shore to 9 nautical miles in the Gulf.
Complete information, including gear requirements, size and harvest limits, can be found at: http://myfwc.com/fishing/saltwater/recreational/snappers
If you will not be using your boat during the off-season, it is a good opportunity to have your boat cleaned or detailed to get it ready for next spring. We have a full-time, experienced detail person who can get your boat in top shape. Please call the marina (850-492-0555) for information or a quote.
