Everyone at Holiday Harbor Marina hopes that 2017 has started off great for you and that the rest of the year is filled with sunshine and fair seas. We are busy this winter with projects that will enable us to better serve you during the coming years.
Ø Boat Launch Ramp -- Out of Service
The bulk head and concrete pad where the forklifts launch boats is being replaced in its entirety. Unexpected construction issues have caused the ramp not to be ready for use until February 20th. This project began January 18th and was expected to be complete by February 6th. During this time period, we will be unable to launch any boats. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please call the Marina office (850-492-0555) if you need additional information or have any questions or concerns.
Ø New Fuel Storage Tanks
In April we will replace our fuel storage tanks. Next month’s newsletter will provide additional information about this change and upgrade.
ANNUAL MARDI GRAS BOAT PARADE
The Pirates of Lost Treasure annual Mardi Gras Boat Parade will be February 18, starting at 10:00 a.m. The parade flotilla will leave from Holiday Harbor Marina and cruise past the docks of Sunset Grille, go East down the Intracoastal Canal to just past the bridge, return West past the Galvez Boat Ramp, then up Ole River . Sunset Grille will open at 9:00 a.m. serving its full menu!
BOAT CLEANING/DETAILING: With the limited days for boating that a cold February usually brings, you may want to use that time to have our detail department clean your boat before the boating season arrives. Give us a call now (850-492-0555) for a quote on any of the following services our detail department offers:
- Wash and wax
- Compound and wax, for boats with some oxidation.
- Wet sand and wax, for boats with heavy oxidation.
- Standard wash
- Pre-trip rinse
- Hull bleaching, for boats with a brown bottom.
- Wash and run. We will run your boat up to proper running temp at the dock, and before putting your boat back in the barn, we will flush your engine with fresh water and give your boat a light scrub, so your boat is ready for you before your next trip.
SAFETY GEAR! This also is a good time of year to check your safety gear to ensure it's in good condition and meets Coast Guard requirements. Your vessel needs a life jacket/PFD for everyone aboard, as well as a fire extinguisher, visual distress signal, a sound producing device, etc. All of these items are available for purchase in our Marina ship store at very competitive prices. It's also highly recommended that your boat is equipped with a VHF radio, since cell service on the water can be spotty.
